Let me correct myself - using the word "safe" was a poor choice of words on my part. They ARE "safe" per ASTM standards. I merely meant that portions of your jaws and ears may be unprotected from a direct hit. Yes, there are other masks out there that pose the same issues as this...

I have the Boo , but have only tried it on and not played in it. I refuse to wear it in a game as I am concerned about the amount of exposed area of the chin and neck area on the sides. I have a small head and my jaw-line is exposed on the sides; even my ear lobes are not fully protected. I for one ...

Guess everyone likes hooded sweatshirts - am I the only one who can't stand to have the hood? I suppose I can always cut it off and use it as a rag. :P Color OD, Tan, or Coyote Brown would be cool.
