It is with regret that I announce that Tacamo will no longer be a sponsor of MSEP. Due to the new owners of Tacamo, Procaps, and their lack of interest in anything remotely resembling MilSim, MilSim Empire will no longer support anything of Procaps.
We have decided to retain the Tacamo forum as a knowledge base to all those Tacamo owners and users here on the site. What is to become of Tacamo remains to be seen...

I would like to personally thank Doug Brown for all of his support over the years to MSEP and to the MilSim community in general. Many of you are not aware of how big of an impact this man has been to the sport we all love and our striving to grow....truly Doug has made an impact in all of our milsim lives with design, innovation and his constant struggle to corral the industry towards milsim.
Thank you DOUG!

Hopefully this doesn't mean that Doug will be leaving us just because Tacamo is no longer a sponsor. I personally feel he is more than just a sponsor representative here.

I may be completely of base stating this though, since I'm still pretty new.......

Even with out Tacamo, Doug is still a huge part of this community. A true friend of MilSim and Scenario Paintball and a heck of a good guy.

I am truely disappointed in these developments.

Thanks

Guys, my employment with Procaps Direct was terminated as of 4pm yesterday Dec. 1, 2008. You should know though that I bear no ill will towards Procaps Direct nor Procaps LP. They are first and foremost a paintball manufacturer and they do not need me to do that. We all find ourselves in extraordinary financial times. In order to survive companies must have a very focused vision of what they are, where they are going, and how they are going to get there. I am not going to speculate on what Procaps is or is not going to do. Nor am I going to speculate on their reasons for doing it. Having owned one of the largest paintball companies in the world at one time (National Paintball) I can tell you that even in the best of times you have to make hard decisions. When times are hard, the decisions get much harder. Very often you have to pursue one direction at the expense of another equally attractive one. The president of Procaps was also my boss at ZAP before the merger. We are friends and remain so. Whatever his reasons for the decisions he makes, I will respect them, if for no other reason than I know they are not easy to make.

I must say though that I feel rather FREE this morning. For the first time in a very long time I can say exactly what is on my mind without taking into account whether it conflicts with the "company line", is basis for a lawsuit, or alienates a customer or supplier. I look forward to sharing those thoughts with you. I'll be around. I'll see you in the woods.

Doug Brown

How much is Tacamo worth to ProCaps? ... I wish. Too bad the economy is in such shape. If ProCaps would let go of Tacamo and sell it to someone who cares this would cease to be an issue... Good to hear Doug is staying, though. :) I couldn't bear the loss of all the witty repartee that goes on between him and other folks around here.

Good Luck Doug, I know you will end up on your feet and thanks for all the great info and history you have supplied over the years. Whatever your future holds, we as a community will be there to return the support that you have so freely given to us.

Doug, I won't say I'm sorry this happened to you b/c I know ultimately you've been thru a lot in the few months leading up to this; this, in a way, is a sort of relief.

I'm rather new to this industry, and Doug has been nothing but the best advisor, and supporter for not me and my company personally, but for MILSIM paintball in general. This is not the last we've seen of this life long Paintball devotee.

I'm sure you've plans B, C, and D waiting in the wings, just let them kick in when you feel it's appropriate, if you ever need anything from me, you know I'll back ya!

Tough hit to take right before the holidays. You can tell alot about a manby how he handles adversity. It is clear to see that veteran's of the forum think highly of Mr. Brown. Good Luck, and Charlie Mike.
