Many people have wanted to do this in the past and I have found a safe and reliable way to do it that will hold sturdily to your marker. This mod will work for either the Glock 17 or Walther P99

First you will need to know some background facts:

-The sig 226 (RAP 50) Glock 17 (RAP 40) and Walther P99 all have the same barrel threads (Yes all 3 can accept the silver sig barrel)

-Out of the 3 the sig p226 has the longest barrel

- The .43 cal thread on version of the Socom silencer comes with a black rap4 M4 muzzle break

In this picture you can see a comparison of the same barrel (silver sig p226 barrel) on both a P99 and P226

Notice how on the P99 the barrel sticks out much further? This will be key to the mod.

Okay, out of all of the barrels including the silver barrel, the stock 226 barrel is the longest, and it is the one I recommend using for this mod.

Here is the length priority of the barrels from longest to shortest:

Sig barrel > Glock barrel > Silver sig barrel > Walther p99 barrel

Step 1:

Track down a stock sig p226 barrel and swap it for your stock barrel.
Here a glock can be seen with a stock sig barrel:

Step 2:

Get a rapM4 muzzle break (.43 cal) and a Socom silencer.
NOTE the .43 cal thread on silencer comes with the muzzle break.

Step 3:

Attach .43 cal muzzle break to the tip protruding from the handguns slide (making sure the set screw will go down on metal and not orange tip), tighten set screw (you may also want to use Teflon tape if there is side to side play on yours)

Final Step:

Slide Socom silencer over muzzle break and tighten the silencers 1-4 set screws (usually it comes with 2 standard).

Make sure you tighten them together so it isn’t lop sided

Your handgun is now a beast.

You should be able to. The 226 and ram50 are basically the same marker, except for the name.

Nice "how to" Stan. Thanks for the detailed steps and pics!!

unfortunately it wont work with the ram 50 as there are no barrels available that are long enough to safely support the set screws.
