And I'm in the market for a new marker!! I was going to get an elite but I may as well get the M17.

As i understand it the M17 has Mech full auto? Which i think is pretty neat. Its also FS ready out of the box. I think i read its price is going to be $299, so i this there flagship marker now? Is there a reason to buy an Elite Pro or any other Milsig marker?

There will be 3 different variants. An entry level M17 similar to the MK3. A CQB for 650$ similar to the elite. And a marksman for 1300$ similar to the para.

1300... sheesh. It never ceases to amaze me people will pay that for a paintball marker.

No way I would spend 1300$ on a marker. I'd rather have real steel for that kind of money.

And yes all 3 new M17's have mech full auto and they are suppose to have an adjustable ROF. They have the HEAT core also.

I hear ya. I think the 1300 variant is for the paintballers who already have an AR LOL.

I like the CQC version just fine, im not sure what else you would need. What do you get for the extra grand on the top end model?

I'm looking at getting the XDC. It has a CC machined receiver and a mid length marksman barrel. I shoot mainly FS rounds and would like a rifled barrel to help with accuracy.

The 1300 rifle I believe has a rifled barrel designed around the FS round. I talked to Mr. Doug Brown a while back about the difference between the para and elite and he said the elite shoots FS rounds real well to around 75 yards. After that anything you can do to improve accuracy is a good thing. That's where the para comes into play. I hear it does well on 100 yard shots. You CAN NOT buy the para barrel as an upgrade to any other markers. It is sold exclusively on Milsigs top end markers. I'm assuming the M17 line of markers follow the same accuracy as the MK3, elite, and para.

So if your looking for those 100 yard FS shots then the para or the M17 marksman is the rifle for you. If your looking for those 50-75 yard FS shots then the elite or XDC is for you. If you play nothing but CQC and rarely shoot FS rounds then the MK3 or the M17 CQC is for you.

The fields I play on I can take 75 yard shots or less on so I have no reason to buy the marksman. So I'm leaning towards the XDC.

Looks like they have slightly changed the FS mags also. Instead of a 10 round straight mag they are now 18 round curved mags.

I'm going to need to see some hard data before I plunk down1300 bones. I'll take the cqc if Iwere in the market. Paintball barels are more myth than science imop.
