Picked up a used Kraken AK47 from a former paintball team/current airsoft team member. Paid $120

Yesterday I met with 2 local airsofters and picked up a new pistol and 10x105 round Mags for my Ak. $270
Today I wet to 2 local dealers and picked up a wood kit and a Tight bore barrel, along with a 9.6v battery. $115
Shims, Air nozzle, duracon piston head, and new bearing bushings. $46
Tomorrows game total cost $20.

Initial cost is high, but one you have a good setup, it becomes cheaper than paintball. Also the Milsim aspect is second to none in gameplay and gear. I'm hooked.

Here it is. Here's hoping I have it put back together right. lol Not sure if he gave me the right bottem part
for the hand guard but whatever good enough. Just waiting on more parts now.

Vapor, i'm really interested in airsoft, espically here in T.O. , but the 5-7 with all the markings, isn't that a replica firearm? The legality of the whole thing and that initial start up cost is what shyes me away from it.

You have to be age verified by AirsoftCanada to play, or buy. There are legal ways of importing airsoft. Although those are becoming scarce. If you are interested in playing airsoft in T-O, you have to be 18, responsible, and extra safe. That means your gun is treated with the same respect you treat an actual firearm. If you mess up you can be blacklisted, then you never play an organized game again.

The start up cost is a doozy, but for me I just sold two paintball markers and wasted a paycheck. lol

Yeesh, I had a Kraken and it was pretty shoddy. It'll work but mine had the occasional hiccup and my friend had one too and his semi-auto mode diddn't work after a day of play.... it woud just grind and sounded horrible and wouldn't shoot, just spin gears.

Not sure about milk-in-a-bag-istan, but in the US, you can get some actually decent, really decent, airsoft guns for about $100 USD through some online dealers. I got a JG SIG 552 and it works really good for something that cost $100. The only issue I had was I stepped on the joint between the stock and rifle on the wrong side and the plastic holding the locking lug in place snapped. I fixed it with some epoxy however, and as long as I don't do a repeat performance it seems to be holding it steady.

But this gets me into why I don't like these airsoft guns much regardless.... you have to play somewhat gentle with these things. You can't swing one of them around like a club or beat on them or do things like that... heck you might not want to smack them with your hands at all. A decent paintball gun you could use as a freeking stepladder.

lol I hear you. Because of Canada's laws you can forget anything decent around the hundred dollar range. That's why most guys, like me, upgrade it with aftermarket parts. Then when something breaks you just upgrade. The body of this one is plastic, I had to pant it black, it was clear. I can get an aluminum body with stock option of my choice for 90 and Steel ones for 200.
